It's end of July and it's Crit Season! We've been looking back at all our works and blowing ourselves away at the progress we've made in class this last year.  A few snapshots of work in class and pieces by students; charcoal, ink, pen and acrylics:

Drawing class schedule

The Hearth is pleased to announce that drawing classes will recommence this month from Tues 13 March. On offer are Beginner’s/intro to drawing, Intermediary, and Advanced level classes - all adult.  They'll be held throughout the week, and there is a limited number of seats available for evening classes for those who work during the day.  
Days and times: 
Tues 9:30 - 11:30 
Wed 18:30 - 20:30, 
Thurs 10:00 - 12:00, however there is a waiting list for new classes, so please contact cintsahearth@gmail.com or call Kate on 072 111 1804 for more details regarding new schedules. Private lessons also welcome. Looking forward to seeing you!

Adults advanced drawing class October

Students were given an image of Franz Kline's 1961 painting 'Corinthian II' and instructed to reproduce it on a wall to scale, but using their own 'fillers'.  They had to come up with on the spot, intuitive marks to emulate Kline's approach to his painting.  

The result was a great stop-frame animation.  Here are some stills from that class:
